Baron Growth Fund invests primarily in small-cap growth companies that we believe have long-term sustainable competitive advantages and that can be purchased at what we believe to be attractive prices. We define small companies as having a market capitalization of less than $2.5 billion at the time of purchase.

Unlike many small-cap funds, Ron Baron manages Baron Growth Fund to make long-term investments in companies. The approach is in keeping with his overall philosophy of investing in companies, not stocks; investing in companies that he believes have superior management and that he believes have the potential to double in price in four years and double again in four or five years.
